how will I know when I need a new roof?

We can tell you. Over the years, you wouldn’t believe how many people tell us that three roofers told them they needed a new roof, particularly on a shake roof. We will look it over and assure them it can be repaired. You may have another four to five years of life left in it. The repair is going to be, say $1,000, and the new roof would have been $20,000. We’re very honest and confident in our ability to repair a roof.

do i need to vent my roof?

The heat radiates down into your house, making it significantly warmer. This can also cause the shingles to fail prematurely. Proper venting alleviates these problems.

can you put in venting for me?

Yes. Whether its standard eyebrow vents, ridge venting, solar-powered attic fans or electric powered, we’ll make sure your venting is well designed and suited to its purpose.

how long will my roofing project take?

We typically complete projects in two to three days. We’re careful to tell people: that’s not because we hurry through. It’s that we work on one project at a time with 2 large crews. They’re very hardworking, very efficient, and very professional.

do you warranty your work?

Our warranty is as strong as any in the industry. It’s a 10-year workmanship warranty on re-roofs. Plus we typically offer a one-year leak-free warranty on repairs. Many companies will not warranty the entire roof. They warranty repaired areas only, which doesn’t really protect the consumer.

What is the one year leak free warranty?

If for some reason the roof we repaired for you begins to leak within a year of repair, we will come out and fix it for no additional cost.

how do i prepare for a roofing job?

We have a handout - a line item list of things for you to do. Most of it is fairly simple, like moving your vehicles out of the garage and driveway. Typically there will be some dirt and debris that can get into the garage, so we recommend covering up things that you don’t want to get dirty. We can provide help if needed.

do solar panels need to be removed for a Re-roof job?

Yes. We have a great company we can refer you to. Or if you have your own solar person, you are free to field bids. Please note: solar panels do not need to be removed for a repair job.

do you do gutter installation or repair?

We only provide gutter services when it is in conjunction with a re-roof job that we did. If we didn’t do your re-roof, we have a gutter company we can refer you to.

do you install metal roofs?

No, we don’t install metal roofs. However, we can repair metal roofs.

Can you repair decks?

Yes, depending on the issue. We address these on a case by case basis.

how do i make a payment?

For all jobs, you will be sent a QuickBooks invoice. You may pay over the phone or send in a check. For roof repairs that are $5k or less, you will have the option to pay online.

what if my home insurance wants me to replace my roof?

This is a common occurrence for many home owners. Unfortunately, it’s the case that insurance companies will fly a drone over your roof to determine whether it might need replacing. This is not an accurate measurement of a roofs durability or life expectancy, which is where we come in to provide an inspection that will give you those details. You may then share that information with your insurance.

Most insurance companies just want a current roof inspection that shows that a roof has life left in it, but we can’t guarantee that insurance won’t still require a new roof or cancel a policy. We recommend that homeowners contact their insurance first to find out their requirements.

How much are roof inspections? What do they include?

Roof Inspections are generally $300, but pricing can vary depending on location. See here for more details on our service area. The purpose of an inspection report is to assess the overall integrity of the roof system, the quality of workmanship, and comment on the roof’s remaining life expectancy. We typically only work with real estate agents when it comes to roof inspections. On occasion we will provide an inspection to a homeowner if it is needed for insurance purposes.

do you provide photos?

No, it is not our policy to provide photos of the roof as part of the report.

do you clean roofs or do roof maintenance?

We do not provide any roof cleaning services unless otherwise stated in a repair estimate. We also do not provide written reports on a roof’s condition as it relates to topical mold, lichen, fungus, algae, etc. We only clean large loose debris that might affect the watertight integrity of the roof. This would be included as part of an overall repair bid.
